Description
1966 - The killings had gotten worse. My father was murdered, nothing to mark the noble man he had been. My mother, brother and I escaped Kano, fled to Enugu to my paternal uncle, hoping to seek refuge. 1967 - Enugu is no longer safe. The Nigerian army have begun an offensive attack on Biafran territory, leaving everyone on this side in survival mode. The terrors of Kano is birthed, alive and breathing in the form of Death. Chikayinma is forced to leave a place she had once called home due to a pogrom affecting the Igbos in Northern Nigeria. She comes back to Enugu reuniting with her extended family, her family friends and her childhood crush, Chimezie Okafor. When truce cannot be met between the Nigeria-Biafra factions, hell breaks loose as everyone is on a quest to survive dying.
