Tsar Alexander III of Imperial Russia removes his eldest son, the future "Nicholas II", of his right to inherit the throne. Nicholas leaves Russia to Germany for his true love, Alix of Hesse. Their family must find their way in an ever changing world. This is the story of four young women and their parents finding their way.
