Ethan, 8 years old, lives in Montana, a state with many farms that stretch for miles around. The summer is very beautiful but the winters are long, snowy and very harsh. His parents are farmers, very busy in the summer preparing their farm and organizing their sustenance for the winter, and he is an only child following the accidental death of his older brother.
Every year, the last day of school is an ordeal for this lonely loner who has so many dreams.
