Two 21st century women, Aela Karsten and Ofelia Mackenzie are threaded back through time to the 9th century during the height of the Viking's power. Both share a connection with each other and two others. But now Aela and Ofelia are forced to survive in a world very different from theirs and much harsher. Both are forced to cope with their predicament and the possibility they might never return. This cold world of the past will become their home and they both must learn to adapt and survive.
