Ella grew up in a abusive household. Her younger sister looks up to her and this pushes her to make choices that benefit her family and their image. She never took into account what her heart wanted until she got her letter. The list before her of all her necessaties was her ticket to freedom even though she didn't know it at the time. She has to make challenging choices and even come face to face with her worst fears at her new school.
