I responded with a stiff nod and attempted to make my way to the opposite side of the kitchen counter but was halted by a sudden but gentle grip on my arm. He spun me around and studied my face for any signs that may give him a reason for my fluttered state. As he examined me I kept my gaze elsewhere fearing that he might catch the glimpse of desire in my eyes. He grew tired of my attempt to dodge his gaze and held my chin firmly, allowing our eyes to meet. I felt my knees grow weak as his jade-green eyes started into my light brown orbs. "Vi?" His tone was as gentle as the caressing motion he was enacting on my cheek. I allowed the feeling of his knuckles running against my cheek to obstruct my better judgment. Long gone was the gnawing feeling of guilt that loomed over me stating the obvious, he was a married man that also happens to be my boss. --- --- --- Two opposites brought together in an attempt to please the ones they love develop a relationship that brings more adversity and tests than they could have ever imagined.
