Alex has lived in The Institution all her life. It's the only place she's ever known. Nobody knows what's outside of its borders, and nobody really cares. Nobody's ever wondered if there's more to life than this for a very long time. But Alex is different. Alex is shown the truth of life beyond what she's been told. Together she bands with the resistors, people who have rejected the rigid systems of the institution, and broken free. They live outside the borders, outside the laws and rules. Outside the Procedure. They are free, and they are powerful. Perhaps they can help her escape and master her own power... Can she really find friends and familiarity outside everything she's ever known, or will she be lost like The Institution predicts?
