There were rumors within the Institute that anomalies from the Zone started appearing around the globe. It was, and is still, unknown how the anomalies got out of the Zone, or if they even got out at all. However, that didn't stop the Institute to send in someone to a town of interest. Someone that knew the secrets of the Zone like the back of their hand.
