We've all waited for a Ryker/Kennedy story, and I have it for you. A spin-off, if you will, from our lovely Carson and Raine's: STORM, MEET RAINE. There were glimpses of Ryker and Kennedy within their story, but now we get to see it all. Every raw, authentic second. EXCERPT "You believe that this toxic, running back and forth...Fucking me. Fucking you. Fucking our brains out physically and mentally...you think that's okay?" I sit there, just watching her. Just like she can sit there and unnerve me with her silence, I can do the same damn thing. But better, in my opinion. Kennedy can give the silent treatment, but she can't take it. She starts to chew on her lip. Our eye contact was fierce. I pick up my glass and took a nice long sip of my beer, smirking when she blinks in annoyance. I sit it back down and let the richness linger on my tongue for a little. Then I shrug my shoulders. "It might not be healthy, but that's our thing. All couples have some shit they do that others think is toxic. Carson and Raine call each other out of their names, but they're all deep in their love crap." "Couple? Where'd you get that word from?" She scrunches up her nose. My thoughts flashback to the words her father told me: Let her come to you. I can only be so patient. "Baby, this between us," I move my finger back and forth, gesturing to the metaphorical tie that we have together. "This ain't ever gonna change. You'll always come back to me. Why not make it official?" "I need time," she sighs. Time, time, time. It's always her needing time. I've learned that it's not her needing time, it's her wanting control of the situation. Wanting control over us. She hates that she always comes back to me, and she's hoping more time will loosen this bond. It won't, and I guess I'll just have to convince her. "Time is my middle name, and I've always given you all that you needed, but Sweetheart, your time is running out."
