That's what West and I had been; an unsuccessful attempt to begin a relationship. A false start. A start that should have never been considered.

It's my fault, of course. I should have known it was a mistake. I 𝘥𝘪𝘥 know it was a mistake. I knew all of the risks involved, like the potential damage to my heart, the shockwaves it would send through my family, the strain it would cause between my brother and West, the tension it would cause between my brother and 𝘮𝘦.

Our attempt at a relationship was the final nail in the overly sealed coffin that contained my already fragile reputation. But none of that stopped me, I jumped headfirst into the inferno that is West Knightly, spectacularly setting my life alight.

I hate him. Hate everything he does, hate the way he makes me feel, the way he smells. I hate the way his touch makes my skin come to life like it's finely attuned to only him, the way his midnight blue eyes trace every curve of my body with so much intensity I might implode.

West Knightly ruins everything he touches. It's what he's known for. Whatever gets him ahead no matter the consequences.

And I guess I'm the next round of collateral damage.
