a problem went wrong with minato's judgment

as it turns out that when you seal the soul of something, that soul can co-exist with the person it's sealed in

when Minato decided to seal the soul of the kyuubi within his son, he greatly miss judged what would happen to his son after his passing, good thing it turned out semi-good
