Arthur Williams, a young but not youthful Captain of Leidenschaftlich, confess his love towards the cold, never understand emotions soldier maiden, Violet Evergarden. The confession leave her stunned, as it was not something she expected coming from him. She rejects him of course, and he expected it but still abit sad about it.

Two months after the enemies of Leidenschaftlich announces war, almost all the soldiers of Leidenschaftlich survived. The captain however, were rumored to be dead.

Nevertheless 2 years after the war breakouts, peace achieved. And when the country became peaceful, they found him. Although, there is something odd about him.
