Introduction

Nicki Grim. A trans-female who'd lived a nice life despite the disgust from her father. She went to a wonderful school filled with those who supported her and cared about her before and after she came out. Growing up with a supportive mother who never judged her when she was child who loved playing with dolls and makeup even though she was biologically male. Everything was fine, until her mother got cancer. After her freshman year of high school she had to move to a new town so her father could get a better job to pay for her mother's treatment at a better hospital. She now lived with her father in a small house in a small town and is about to start her sophomore year.

She believes she is going to hate this new school, but what when she meets Conrad, a guy who seems to like the things she likes and sticks up for her when she's picked on? When her mother suddenly dies she falls into a deep depression and her father goes back to drinking. Conrad and her new friends become the only ones to be there for her, so when Conrad lifts her back up she finds herself entering an art contest and painting a portrait of Conrad himself!

How will the changes in Nicki's life affect her? Will she get a happy ending or will she be left all alone? Will her father open his eyes? Will she finally fulfill the promise she made to her mother as a child? Will she ever tell Conrad how she feels before he moves away to start college early?
