Foreword

Two thieves, Veeru and Jai, are hired by a former police inspector, Thakur Baldev, to catch the ruthless dacoit Gabbar Singh, who wreaks havoc in the village of Ramgarh.

Initially willing to do the deed only for money, they soon have a change of heart when they learn about Thakur's past and realise how affectionate the villagers are. Will they be able to catch Gabbar before it is too late?
