Val was a person who never quite fit into the normal world no matter how hard they tried. When a hiking adventure through an uncharted Eastern European landscape with an old friend turns into a fatal accident, Val is reborn into another world filled with beings and monsters that push the limits beyond the limits of reality. She learns to adapt and survive with their newfound abilities, make friends, find love, experience things they could only imagine, and make a home for themself where she feels she finally, truly belongs.
