Temari scoffed, "I'd rather be on my own for the rest of my life than to marry someone incompetent."

The air fell silent for a moment as the both of them stared at the ceiling in thought what to do.

"Just marry me then.", he lamely suggested.

"Did you hear me, Nara? I said I don't want to marry someone incompetent."

Summary:

Temari had a bad meeting with the council members where they want to marry her off. Being in Konoha means she can take over her escorts life and belongings. Shikamaru knows he's the only one who can handle his company and doesn't find it to be as bad as he makes it out to be.
