Chapter 1- Strawberry pies

I saw her in the strawberry field. I was there to pick strawberries for my Sunday morning pie, but I think I got a little distracted. She had long, strawberry blond hair, tied back in a yellow gingham bandana. She had on a fluffy tulle white dress embroidered with daisies and was holding a tan straw basket.

I was in the strawberry fields, picking strawberries for my grandmother who loved to bake strawberry pies. I saw the most beautiful girl across the row from me. She had long, brown hair, tied up in a bun atop her head. She was wearing the most beautiful gingham pastel blue dress I'd ever seen. I couldn't tell if I wanted it or I wanted her... or both.
