Lindsay Byrne is the daughter of Michael Byrne, the brand new headteacher at Waterloo Road Comprehensive. As much as she wants to settle in like a normal schoolgirl, that proves slightly difficult being the Headteacher's daughter. However, she soon takes interest in one of the school's notorious bad boys, Finn Sharkey. What'll happen when these two cross paths?
