"Mona, why are you doing this?" Chris ran his fingers over the crisp white butcher's paper and looked over at her with weary eyes.

"You know you're the only person that calls me Mona?"

"Am I?"

"You are. And I'm doing this because you're in 'the place' and I know that place, so I'm here to come get you. And feed you. Actual food. You still need food, even in the place."
