"Have you always been such an arrogant prat?" I retorted

He turned his sharp gaze to me in astonishment
Before backing down and rolling his glinted eyes.

The sight of him expressing an emotion that wasn't full of scorn almost made me laugh in utter surprise.

But what surprised me more was that a badly hidden smile grew on his face, and i could have sworn i saw him quietly laughing out of the corner of my eye.
