Effie Gray was a 10 year old girl who was born in Liverpool but after the death of her mother she is forced move to the West of Scotland to live with her uncle William. 10 years later when she goes back to her birthplace she is unexpectedly reunited with her childhood best friend, she is given an opportunity to see the world.
