Aleksander Morozova was desperate. He sought out the Morozova's journals to find a way to keep on living and save the Grisha from being hunted by the King's soldiers. But all the answers he was searching for led to a blank page that has one phrase 'THE DEVIL, CARMILLA ABADDON - NEVER CALL HER UNLESS YOU ARE IN DIRE NEED'.

In return for kneeling to the devil, he has gained one that is now willing to dirty its hands for him.
