Draco Malfoy, a textbook pureblood and Slytherin, realizes he was raised in a prejudiced and abusive household in his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry once he is out from under his pureblood parents' thumb. Not falling into friendship with his house mates that are less than like-minded, Draco Malfoy finds himself best friends with the boy who lived, a blood traitor Weasley, and a muggle born. Being their friends, however, does not save him from the dark ways of his family tugging him into the darkness as the years pass and Voldemort rises.
