Prologue- The Day I got Arrested

Lyra Davison, a 14-year-old girl, is imprisoned at Oakley Juvenile Detention Centre for theft and assault.

Once her years-long sentence was up, her parents disappeared off the radar and never came back for her.

Unable to leave prison without a guardian or parent, the staff at Oakley turned to see if anybody wanted to adopt Lyra.

That's when Collette walked into her life and Lyra found herself with more than she could have ever asked for.

But when Lyra finds her anger uncontrollable and her old habits emerge, Collette's worried that she'll end up locked behind bars once more.
