Description
Mattie lived in the college town of Campton, Massachusetts during the school year and in Elmswood during the summer. She worked at her parent's small but well-kept bookshop on the corner of Main Street, and while Mattie was content to muse to herself that she did not want to inherit the bookshop and that she was destined to move to Europe, she was not ready for life to so drastically turn upside-down. Holden Thomas was probably the hottest guy in Campton, and his most-wanted was none other than the bookworm-type Mattie Miller. And a devastatingly excited Mattie said yes, approximately five times at that. But then there's her parents announcement that the bookshop will close and there's nothing Mattie - or anybody can do to save it. And lastly, there's Alex Green, the rudest and most bitter man Mattie has ever had the misfortune to speak to. But speak to him she does, and gradually, Mattie begins to uncover his deepest, darkest secrets. Between Alex's tutoring in Calculus (which Mattie fears she will never pass), the bookshop, and of course, the sweet yet utterly demanding Holden, Mattie's not sure what is right and what is wrong anymore.
