Prologue: Love

You can't back out, you can't tell another soul, and you can't fall in love, until they say 'I love you' on their own, with no pushing and you can't say it first. That's the agreement; you have to pull every trick he's pulled and make him fall in love.
That's what I swore to do; it was a best friend pact and there was no going back on it. Worse, I already knew how I would begin. The Heartbreaker Agreement was in motion the moment I said, 'I swear to be a heartbreaker.' If only I had really understood the meaning of those words and how they would affect me.
