Chapter 1

When Sinela Chaudhry refuses to enter an arranged marriage with Sameer, a rich recluse in rural Pakistan, her parents plead that he will ruin her family if he can't have her. Unable to change their minds, Sinela, a bright ambitious student, scars herself, then threatens to take her own life. Fearful that she will carry out her threat, her parents agree to help her run away. She sets out on a harrowing journey across Pakistan, escaping finally to America. In Los Angeles, Sinela creates a new, rewarding life, until she discovers Sameer's true identity and realizes he can never stop hunting her.
