Prologue

After a botched mission, Zurine flees to the western country of Sincheon. In an effort to pay off her debt she finds herself suddenly engaged to the emperor, Kang Yohan.

Navigating her new life as Lady of the Palace, she must keep her identity hidden from the royal family as well as the friends that she makes along the way.

But this doesn't stop Lord Baldwin plans centered around greed and ambition.

With each passing day, Zurine is pushed to make a decision. Will she stay with the emperor and welcome these new feelings of love or will she return to Lord Baldwin as a pawn?
