I have chosen to speak in routine rhyme time after time after time.
But still I stand surprised at all inside my mind that I find.
Be it good or be it bad,
I have been given words and ways to tell you that I don't feel sad.
I feel empty.
I feel numb.
I feel terrified.
I feel miserable.
I am a poet by nurture,
Of circumstance and sealed lips pursed in a smile.
This is my tomb, from which I rise with newfound light and understanding in my eyes.
Be gentle and take care with the barren bones it may bear.
Know that I don't know what all waits for you there.
Whether you laugh or whether you cry,
Know that I am happy,
For my heart was glanced over with another's eye.
