Eren's mom still dies she was murdered in front of his eyes you'll find out how in the story. After Eren's mom gets murdered, Eren goes to foster care because they're still waiting for his dad to get back from his 1 year work trip, but while his dad is on his trip he dies so eren is sent to an adoption center where him and Levi's journey begins.
