Description

For generations, the throne of Kesewokan has been occupied by women. Strong, powerful women who had fought to protect their queendom. The throne has always been passed down to the first daughter of the royal family. The queendom is prosperous and well protected due to the hardwork of predecessors. Abena Abokoma is the first and only child of her parents. Her mother, Obaahemaa Yaa Abeka ruled for fifteen years before an incurable disease claimed her youthful life. The late prince consort, Barima Kofi Adade died of depression after the untimely death of his beloved queen and wife. Abokoma has been raised within the walls of Nyimdi(wisdom) palace and has grown up listening to stories about her brave mother and queen. A woman who's memories are now hazy in her mind. She has been raised to be just as brave and strong by her aunt and mother's younger sister Sewaa Nyameye to one day take the throne that has been her birthright since the minute she was born. At age twenty-one, Abokoma feels ready to take the burden of the queendom onto her shoulders. The elders council, having tasted power, are reluctant to give it up to a mere child they raised. If the young princess wants to be queen, she has to fight for it. She has to show the queendom that she is her mother's daughter and that she is ready to face the challenges head on to gain the trust and support of her subjects. Kesewokan has no place for a weak queen. Blood, sweat and tears must be shed by the young princess if she wants to rule. For Abokoma's sake, let's hope there is greatness ahead.
