Rowan is a young man who lives a normal, secluded life away from people. He owns a small cabin in the woods of New York and lives there happily and peacefully. His life turns upside down one day though, when a strange group of people burst into his house and tell him he's necessary for saving their world. He knows what he is, but he's been hiding for so long that he wishes he didn't.

Practically; Clary finds there is a way to defeat Jonathan without disobeying the Angels' wishes, and Rowan is a big part of the plan. And though he always knew he was destined to do so, he was scared when everything was already happening.
