"This is the last time," I say, breaking the kiss, trying to catch my breath. "Are you sure?" he breathes, bringing his kisses down to my neck. "Yes. No.. I don't know," I respond, frustration mixing with the overwhelming sensation my body got with each touch of his skin against mine, "All I know is that this is a mistake." After living what felt like the same day for months, Kalena impulsively wanders to the only place in town that is warned against entering. After one of the five statues that she stumbled upon turned to flesh and blood at her touch Kalena quickly became of interest to the man now standing in front of her; vain and wickedly beautiful Zakarias, the prince of the underworld. In an attempt to know how Kalena brought him back so he can do the same for the other four, Zakarias offers to help her figure out who or what she really is; throwing Kalena into a world that she believed was just a myth. Even as their need for one another slowly begins to hold a different meaning, Kalena refuses to let herself fall for the underworld royalty; a story she has heard before.
