Poe had feelings for Ranpo, but he never admitted them. he was scared to admit he had feelings for him, afraid Ranpo would reject him and leave him. He didn't want his own feelings to ruin their friendship. so then he hid them, he hid his own feelings, locking them up into a bottle and throwing the key away. But what Poe feared most came true. Ranpo never liked him the way Poe did, he saw him as a friend. A friend who's a detective. Someone with the same interest as him.
