Sirius has raised Harry during the last 11 years and is ready to see him off for his first year at hogwarts. He keeps his promise and tries to give Harry the life his parents wanted for him...but that comes extremely difficult when dangers at hogwarts approach and Harry seems to run towards trouble much like his father.
