Mikhail Orlov is a top-notch spy working for the KGB.
Due to his incredible abilities to blend in in any environment possible and lack of accent when speaking foreign languages, he's cast to perform a special mission for the Soviet government: infiltrate the American administration and steal information that Moscow judges useful, a document under the name of "Red Operation"
However, something that neither Moscow nor Mikhail expected was that the southern and rather inexperienced Stephen Larsen, who gets an offer to work as an intern for Washington DC, would evoke feelings in Mikhail that were yet unknown to him and could jeopardize the entire mission.
