His blank face was devoid of any emotion, his green cold eyes, the eyes of a predator, were taking me in. "Don't run, Callida, I'll catch you", his smooth but manly voice warned.

Callida is a human girl living in the harsh world of Desa. Destiny has bound her to Gaisgeil, the cold and cruel ruler of this world. Will she accept the bond?

Once upon a time the earth was warm and humans lived a comfortable life. Now the earth is cold, new creatures rule on the remains of humans. Callida knows, somewhere in a mysterious past, humans were the rulers of this world. What changed? Why are humans now at the end of the food chain?

She has one aim: to reveal the secrets of this new world, where strength is the only valuable currency.
