Lottie and the other Gladers leave the Right Arm's base on an expedition to search for their missing member, Newt, who has left them mysteriously in the middle of the night with only a note to explain his whereabouts. On their journey, they discover that the world is in worse shape than they think. The Gladers must move fast, saving everyone they can in the process. The hourglass has been flipped, and when the last grain of sand falls, the whole world perishes.
