Life has been good for Kian Madani and his small family. He continues to save lives in the Darwin ward with Jac and Nicky while his wife Haley works in the hospital gift shop. Their adorable daughter Farrah is going through the terrible twos and is an absolute daddy's girl.

It is only days after getting the best news ever that disaster strikes. Kian is injured in a car accident and is terrified of having to take pain medication; if he relapses on his painkiller addiction, he has everything to lose.
