"Marc and Jean-Claude"

Marc Roussillon, a young World War Two hero, persuades his wife, Simone, who is an agent for the French Resistance, to use her influence upon a Nazi officer so that the Germans will free his best friend, Jean-Claude Jourdan. Jean-Claude is an RAF pilot whom the Germans have captured. The plan involves many risks. Marc is aware that his beloved Simone will place her life in danger. Yet he wants to move forward with this plan. He respects her courage and her patriotism. Yet he wonders whether she will agree to carry out his plan.
