Description

It was the winter of 1944 and the soldiers under my command were not doing well. I didn't want to be here anymore, I don't want to be in this war anymore. As I sat down in my tent, I could hear the shelling from American guns sound off in the distance. This was our final chance to push them back. I then heard a whistling sound and then nothing, I was standing in a blank white room. There was furniture that was white, the paint on the walls was white, and the only thing that wasn't white was a pale woman in all black. She looked as if she were about to go to a loved ones funeral. "Where am I?" I asked her. "You are in my office, in a place known simply as purgatory and you are currently dead." replied the woman. "You're the Lady of the Dead, or simply the Reaper, am I right?" I asked. "Yes that is correct and after so many years of the same thing, I found you." she said not elaborating. "What do you mean?" I asked. "I simply mean that I'm willing to give you another chance at life, and all you have to do is simply serve me for seventy years of your new life. Of course there will be things to help you along the way and make you feel at home, but that comes in time." she said. "What would I need to do?" I asked. "Simple any supernatural being that steps out of line and isn't taken care of by there respectful faction or other you will dispose of and they shall be sent here to be destroyed permanently." she said. "There seems like there would be more to this agreement." I said. "For what I'm about to do, I don't do for anyone but you've caught my interest. It will come with a price though." she said. "Whatever it is, I'll pay it." I said. "Are you sure?" she asked. "Yes." I responded. "Even if it could mean the loss of hundreds of thousands of your fellow countrymen and women pain and death?" she asked. "I'm sad to say this and it makes me sick to my stomach, but yes I do." I said. "Very well, you begin in September of 1945. Enjoy your new life."
