What happens when Julia finds herself in a situation she'd never expect to be in?

She's heard about the mafia, but always believed it wasn't real. Julia believed the mafia was something made up to scare kids and keep them from roaming the streets late at night. Julia's always been connected to the mafia, but she never knew. They've succesfully hidden it from her for 26 years, but they can't hide it anymore when she's caught up in a shooting. Her friends save her, but how will she go on knowing that everything she believed to be false is true and she's a massive part of it? How does she deal with becoming collateral damage?
