When East High student Mikalah Nadeau notices auditions for the school's production of High School Musical, she doesn't really care to try out. Sure, she's a theater kid, but she knows nothing about HSM. That is, until her best friend Evie forces her to watch it.
Before she knows what's happening, Mikalah is thrust into the world of Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez. Add in a quirky theater teacher turned director, a transfer student and drama all around (not just the acting kind) and things get crazy. Will they pull it off for opening night? Or will Mikalah regret ever being introduced to this musical?
