Prologue

We escaped only a year ago.

I was held captive for eight.

Some came back broken and with scars.

Others came in body bags.

We have been advised to blend in with the public, and I only know three things

1) They will come for us.

2) When they do, we won't escape a second time.

3) The terrifying and grumpy kid in my physics class is really fucking hot.
