Genevieve's life is changed forever when one night, the shadow in the corner of her room gets up and starts talking to her. A boy made of shadows. And he shows her a whole other world, that makes her head spin.
Genevieve and Kol grow up together, playing in the night, but as Genevieve gets older she starts to realize that Kol wasn't just a bored boy looking for a playmate. He was sent to protect her from something.
As Kol gets more distant and nervous Genevieve gets angry and suspicious. What's so special about Genevieve?
