Prologue

A satirical piece on the place of women in our society, written and told by several similar characters.

Mia: Mia is a girl who's dealing with suddenly becoming the most responsible kid in the house, as well as conflicting opinions on social issues in her own family and the inability to speak her mind. She often finds herself going through a severe identity crisis: whether it be her religious beliefs, gender identity, sexuality, possible ADHD or tic disorder(or both), or social anxiety.
990818: A nameless person who does fairly well in school. 990818 is never the best at math, though. English is much more up their alley.
Hazel: Hazel is a well-rounded teenager who always knows what to say and do. Hazel seems to have her life together, with her sights set on going to a university to major in Education and to teach English to children all over the world. She's determined and shows a bright face to everyone she meets.
Sunflower: Sunflower is a people-pleaser. While they say and think the right things, she's always afraid of being attacked for it, especially after years of being told she was wrong. Even with that fear, they'll continue to speak their mind about issues that are important to her, and she's unapologetically her.
Grace: Grace is a happy girl who still isn't sure in herself. She's often not very present, not because she doesn't like people, but because sometimes keeping up with them is exhausting. she also seeks validation from those around her because she feels as though she annoys them, but she's trying her best to let them speak instead. She also often doubts herself, she's possibly not entirely cisgendered and not entirely straight, but she doesn't even tell her very accepting, supportive, and VERY GAY friends.
Sweet Pea: Although she rarely writes, Sweet Pea is the youngest of the characters. She's, of course, childish and extremely naive, and often times, you'll see her hanging out around other characters instead of just being by herself.
