A bit of Background

Elizabeth "Ellie" Lewis is a small town journalist who can't help but daydream in every spare moment. Quite happy with her life, the last thing she expects is for her mother to fall grievously ill.
Racing back to her childhood home, her mother leaves her with a parting puzzle. When Ellie figures it out, she becomes delighted in the escape the solution offers, and without knowing it she's transported back to 1823, when going to a Season was the biggest goal in life.
Struggling to fit in, let alone compete in a Season is enough to drive Ellie bonkers, but she's comforted by the thought that it will all be over soon.
If only the crown prince could stay away.
