Prologue

Harlow Novalie is a thirteen year old girl who's life is a complete disaster. All her life, she thought she was just an ordinary girl with nice parents, good friends, and a fun life. Yes, we all make mistakes, and Harlow thought it was normal to fight with the people you care about sometimes, and it's true. But what she thought was normal is quite the opposite from what happens throughout her life. Instead, she's stuck with overprotective parents; a mother who prioritises her first-born daughter before anything or anyone else, and a father who will spoil his first-born daughter but will say no to everything Harlow has asked for, which isn't much, and take out all his anger on her. She has an older sister who gets whatever she wants, when she wants, and will pretend to love Harlow in front of her parents but bullies her "behind the curtains". Fake friends, who will talk behind her back, then act as if everything is fine when Harlow is around. And a messed up world where people smoke, do drugs, drink, fuck, bully, and destroy what they love. Some people think that her life is called something along the lines of, "messed up". And it is. In summary, she lives in an abusive family and a cruel world that makes her have suicidal thoughts. But is that all the world has in store for her? Is that all she was meant to do, to be? Just a lonely girl who keeps her feelings bottled up because she is afraid of the outcome and consequences if she tells someone. Perhaps not. Perhaps, she was meant to change the world. "Be the change you wish to see in the world", is what Gandhi had said. But can Harlow do it? Can she attempt to change the so called cruel world she lives in? You will have to see.
