The Beginning

Endings aren't true. Or we like to believe that something always comes after, after a parting, after a loss, after death, after time. We tell stories, we pretend, because we never know. But Lisa, seventeen-year old Lisa just returning home, after running away ages ago, doesn't have the privilege of pretense. Because within the familiar rooms, lies the truth about herself. She will see the end of the world, she will bring it on as the dark skies welcome the rain.
