After retiring the Lion Guard, Kion found his new role in the Circle of Life: being king of the Tree of Life. Over time, he made new friends and found out things he never knew before in his life. But one day, something horrifying happened that would take away his honor of being king. The guard tried their best to prove that Kion was innocent, but nothing worked. Rani was depressed when seeing her mate leave the kingdom, but she knew it was the only way to keep him safe from 'the curse.' Outside of the kingdom, Kion befriend Nuru: a rogue lioness that was kicked out of her pride too. Soon enough, Kion became a prideless lion himself.
